The Tag Cloud is an optional part of the user interface. It can be turned on and off via the menu option 'View | Tag Cloud' or by pressing F9 on the keyboard and can be moved around the screen by dragging and dropping to a new location.
It's purpose is to identify the Tags that exist on the Files/Segments that are currently being viewed in the File Browser.
The Tags (both implicit and explicit) are displayed as an alphabetically sorted left-to-right list using heavier or lighter fonts, as appropriate, to denote how relevant any given Tag is to the files. The darker, heavier and larger the font, the more that font has been used for the collection of Files/Segments being viewed.
As well as providing a nice visual overview of the File Browser's current content, the Tag Cloud saves the user from having to expand and collapse branches of the Library Tree if they wish to apply any filtering, since it is interactive in the following way:
- Clicking on a Tag will open that tag
- Clicking on a Tag with CTRL held down will filter the results to the Tag that was clicked on
- Clicking on a Tag with ALT held down will filter out Files with the Tag that was clicked on
- Clicking on a Tag with SHIFT held down will append all other Files with that Tag to the File Browser
- Right-Clicking on a Tag will select the chosen Tag in the Library Tree
The Tag Cloud is also scrollable via the up and down arrows at it's top and bottom. Hovering the mouse over these arrows will scroll the contents of the Cloud in the chosen direction. Clicking on the arrows will perform a jump to the beginning or end of the list of tags.
