Excellent program, exactly what I was looking for. Oddly, all flv's will play from HDD in multiple players, but SOME won't thumbnail or play in Videophile II. I have the latest beta version 1.3.0 . They seem to be H264 ( barely functional discussing codecs here), I can get file details (the reason I say they are H264), I do have ffdshow installed. Any thoughts?

Thanks for the nice comment virgil.

If you are able, perhaps you could send me the smallest of the 'bad' files? Only I don't have any h264 FLV's at my end....

But, first, check (and play around with) the settings for H264 in ffdshow...

Run:
rundll32 "C:\YOUR PATH\ffdshow.ax", configure

Let me know how it goes, please? :)

OK, have located a file of the type that you mentioned and it wouldn't play on my system either

BUT....

there is alays a solution, right ;) Grab the latest FLV splitter from Gabests' (MediaPlayer Classic author) page at SourceFourge:

http://sourceforge.net/projects/mpc-hc/files/

You will need to re-start Videophile II after you have registerd the filter with

regsvr32 "C:\YOUR PATH\FLVSplitter.ax"

hi polie - long time no see ;-)

Many recent (last few weeks) YouTube files are in this format. H264 in an FLV container...

Gabest's FLVSplitter (link above) has become my new splitter of choice for FLV!

So I believe but I'm no expert. Wouldn't have even been aware of the 'upgrade' if not for virgil's post...

Wow folks, now that's what I call responses! Thanks for the welcomes. I'll try the new splitter although I don't doubt it will work. Will keep everyone posted. I appreciate the help and glad I could contribute in some small way, since I happen to think this is a great program that everyone should have.

You're welcome - version 1.4.0 will be released very soon and I think you'll find it a pleasing upgrade...
