I would love to see a multi-thumbnail feature in the program.

Many video files start with the same "commercial" shit intro or with simply a black screen. So in case the first thumbnail is black, the others migth show more movie info.

When multiple screenshots would be put in a row (say 5 shots of each movie) it would give more "preview".

To speed up things, users could set a prefered thumbnail row-size like 5 shots in a row, more or less...

Thanks for the suggestion. I did actually consider something like that but I didn't want the Library size to increase by a factor of (in your example 5).

Please not the following points, though:

1) The default thumbnail is taken from the very middle of the file in order to avoid intros etc.

2) you can change the thumbnail that is stored with a file via the 'camera' button in the File Inspector

3) Refer to the File Poster featuer which will give you exactly what you are asking for

thanks for posting...

hehe, I wouldnt mind if the database gets sizes of many megabytes.
Size is not a big issue nowadays as long it is not in the ranges of many gigabytes :-)

I realy would love such "view tumbnails in a row" and browse in them verticaly

many famelyvideos have the same persons on it and it is hard to make a distinction between
so thats why i ask

i do not onderstand the "file poster" feature well

Hmmm, maybe I'll reconsider this at some point in the future but for now I have other things to work on....

File Posters are explained here:

creating-poster-images-t38.html

There is an exmaple image included in that thread

True, but I think it would be nice if at some point in the future, people could swap Libraries via Videophile II so, for now, I'm trying to keep the size down...

Cheers..
